How can I protect myself against online credit card fraud?
MSN Shopping requires its merchants to provide secure transaction capabilities when taking transaction information from our customers. We continue to focus on working with the best merchants on the web to ensure you have a safe shopping experience. Unfortunately, we cannot monitor all of their activities all of the time. To be safe, ensure you are on the site you planned to be shopping with when giving out personal information.

What is my liability for online credit card fraud?
Most major credit cards will typically cover all unauthorized charges made on their cards, although some may charge you a $50 deductible Selected banks and credit card companies waive even this $50 liability for misuse of your credit card as a result of online fraud. It is always a good idea to check with the institution that issued your card to find out exactly what your liability is. Agreement Between User and MSN

However, each individual Merchant participating at MSN Shopping is responsible for setting and explaining their individual shipping, return, security and other policies applicable to shopping in their stores and purchasing their products. MSN does not guarantee, warrant or endorse any product or service sold by a Merchant in MSN Shopping, nor do we have any liability or responsibility for the quality or performance of any product or service sold to you by any Merchant. The purchase of any product or service from a Merchant at MSN Shopping is a transaction solely between you and that Merchant, and any question or dispute you may have regarding any such product or service should be addressed directly to the responsible Merchant. MSN has no responsibility or liability for any Merchant or your relationship with such Merchant.

You are responsible for paying the entire amount due on your purchase, including any applicable taxes, shipping and other charges assessed by the Merchant. With respect to applicable taxes, the Merchant will advise you subsequently of the exact amount of tax due on your purchase. MSN has no responsibility whatsoever for any miscalculation or omission by a Merchant of applicable taxes on any sale.

MSN also does not guarantee, warrant, endorse or otherwise have any responsibility for any contest, sweepstakes, promotion or any other type of marketing made available to you by a Merchant. Any such contest, sweepstakes, promotion and marketing is being offered solely by the Merchant and is entirely the responsibility of such Merchant. Any question or dispute that you may have regarding any of the foregoing should be addressed directly to the responsible Merchant.

Additional policies

1. Bulletin Boards. MSN Shopping may include bulletin boards, chat rooms, or other communications forums ("Bulletin Boards") which allow feedback to MSN, and/or real-time interaction between users. MSN does not control the messages, information or files delivered to Bulletin Boards. It is a condition of your use of the Bulletin Boards and this Web site that you use the Bulletin Boards only to send and receive messages and material that are proper to the Bulletin Board. By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Bulletin Board you will not:

• Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and personality) of others.

You acknowledge that Bulletin Boards are public and not private communications. Further, you acknowledge that Bulletin Board postings by other users are not endorsed by MSN or MSN Shopping, and such communications shall not be considered reviewed, screened, or approved by MSN or MSN Shopping. MSN reserves the right at all times without notice to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, that in MSN's sole discretion are objectionable or in violation of the terms, conditions or notices of MSN Shopping.

Any Bulletin Boards located within a Merchant's site are the sole responsibility of the Merchant and MSN has no responsibility or liability for any Bulletin Boards located within a Merchant's site.

2. Adult Responsibility. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and that you possess the legal right to use MSN Shopping in accordance with the stated terms and usage policies. You hereby agree to supervise usage by, and be responsible for the actions of, any minors who use your computer and/or registration account to access MSN Shopping.

3. Personal and Non-Commercial Use Limitation. MSN Shopping is for your personal, noncommercial use. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products or services obtained from MSN Shopping.
